Interview with J. Edmond from Prospect, CT. He has a new single set to release for March 22, 2024
J. Edmond, who I refer to as Jebb, is a young musician I met through a shared music community back in 2020. He’s a great guy to know! He’s also someone I was intrigued to get to know a little more about. He’s young and filled with TONS of motivation, passion and creativity. When I asked him for this interview, he kindly said, YES!
Ladies and gents, I present to you….J. Edmond!
MFP: I see you on Facebook as Jeremy Edmond. Is Jebb what you like your friends to call you?
*J. Edmond: Jebb used to be, as I move into my new name J. Edmond for my music. Jebb was a nickname my father gave me which is Jeremy Edmond Beatles Boy. I used it in high school to make myself original.
MFP: You have a brand new musical project under the name J. Edmond, is that correct? Can you tell us more about it?
*J. Edmond: J.Edmond is my reclaim to power for myself, for too long I was under a nickname and not being myself. J.Edmond is me making music as myself vs trying to be something I wasn’t.
MFP: Is this going to be an ongoing musical project or is this just for one release? What are your current musical plans?
*J. Edmond: This will be on going starting with City Walk and moving with new singles and hopefully one day an album.
MFP: Are you currently working with any other musicians right now? Or are you completely solo?
*J. Edmond: This project is solo but with the help of A. Michael Collins and some other musicians to make it a full reality.
NOW FOR SOME BACKGROUND ON YOU…
MFP: How long have you been playing and writing music?
*J. Edmond: About 7 years now.
MFP: Can you give our readers a little background about your musical catalog? (Past and current music releases.)
*J. Edmond: There’s a lot, over 50 releases ranging from singles to full albums that all can be found on jebbsmusic.bandcamp.com and a few on robojackrecords.bandcamp.com my now retired label.
MFP: What is your favorite song of YOURS?
*J. Edmond: Oh wow, I’d have to say Isolated Dew, Granite, or I Need A Break.
MFP: Who are other musical people you’ve worked with?
*J. Edmond: Roger Joseph Manning Jr., Pete Donnelly of The Figgs, Patrice Porter-Zappa (Frank Zappa’s Sister), Dee Long and Terry Draper of Klaatu, and a few more names I’m trying to remember.
MFP: What instruments do you play? Were you self taught? What brand of guitar(s) (and/or any other instruments) are you playing? Are there any other musical instruments that you hope to acquire one day?
*J. Edmond: I am a guitarist, bassist, vocalist, mandolin and more, I use a beautiful reverend guitar, SGJ, Takamine Acoustic. I was taught by my dad, my Uncle Rich, and a few others plus self teaching. I want to get back into French Horn.
MFP: What do you love most about being a musical artist?

MVP: Were you involved in choir or band in school?
*J. Edmond: I was in band and choir.
MFP: An off-music question for you….
What was school life like for you? Are you continuing any form of education? Why or why not?
*J. Edmond: School was tough for me in my formative years, I was bullied a lot and had only a few friends. I’m in college now about to graduate. It is kicking my arse but getting it done!
MFP: What are your current (music or non-music) career goals? Are you living any of them now? (radio show, playing out live, touring, etc….)
*J. Edmond: I want to tour but I’m not quite there yet. I’m hoping to get a sales job so I can fund my music and make it work somehow.
MFP: Do you feel your current goals match the same ones you had when you were a little kid? As in what you wanted to be when you grow up?” Would your answer be the same or has it changed, since you’ve been involved in music this far?
